Dear Nomads,
When was the last time you did something for the first time?
Today was a whole day of firsts for me - and it was lovely! I wandered the streets of Bangkok for the first time, took a ferry on the Chao PhrayaRiver and visited my first Buddhist temple, took a Tuk-Tuk for the first time and had my first lunch at a cookshop in the streets.
And also for the first time in my life, I felt like a complete stranger - a scary, yet fabulous feeling I did not expect. I didn’t know what to expect of Bangkok, either. Anything was possible, really. But I am glad to say that I am stoked.
I got sucked into this moloch of people and noises and smells and I am surprised at just how comfortable I feel in the chaos that is Bangkok. I know, to most people the city is already old hat, but for me this is a first! Everything feels new and I am not ashamed to say that this little explorer here is absolutely thrilled by all of this!
Happy greetings from the road,
Gesa

So happy that you like Bangkok!!! One of my favourite cities in the world
xx
Gesa, very very well written!!
I’ve been to Bangkok many times and love the city…
…yes, it’s loud & full of people & traffic…
…but I feel comfortable there and absolutely safe.
And you described exactly how I feel every time when walking through the streets & “feeling” the vibe!
Thank you for finding words for it!
…I love your articles & texts & “words”… great!!
Cheers, Susie
Cheers Yvonne & Susie!
I had another great day in crazytown and am still with you: Bangkok is one of those places you have to see at least once in your life - to either hate it or love it!
… I happen to love it though.
